How HiGEO works

Your GEO playbook, not just another dashboard.

Enter your domain. HiGEO figures out your brand and your topics, asks AI the questions your buyers ask, and runs them across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. You get a Brand Visibility Report and a prioritized list of moves: the facts to publish, the pages to write, the technical fixes to ship, and the exact off-site pages and threads to go win.

Your Google ranking doesn't decide what AI recommends.

When someone asks an AI assistant for the best tool, the best firm, or how to solve a problem, the answer is assembled from sources across the open web, not from your search position. That is a different game from SEO, with its own way of choosing who gets mentioned and cited, and most brands have no way to measure whether they are even in the answer. Here is how HiGEO measures it, and what you do about it. Read the difference between GEO and SEO.

Six steps, start to finish

From your domain to your to-do list.

Step 01

Enter your domain. That is the whole setup.

You start with one field: your website. HiGEO crawls your site and infers your brand name, a short description of what you do, and the topics you should be tracked for. There are no forms to fill, no brand-name field to type, no topic taxonomy to build. The product reads your site the way an AI engine would and proposes what to measure.

Advanced settings (markets and languages) exist if you want them, and they stay collapsed and optional. Most people never open them.

Step 02

Review your topics. Accept all, or curate.

HiGEO shows you the topics it inferred from your site as a short, checkable list. Accept the suggested set in one click, or uncheck the ones that miss and add any it didn't catch. Topics are how HiGEO knows which corner of the market to ask AI about, so a minute here makes the next step sharper. You stay in control without having to build anything from scratch.

Step 03

HiGEO writes around 100 questions your buyers actually ask AI.

From your topics, your domain, and that short description, HiGEO generates around 100 questions, the real things buyers type into an AI assistant: "best tool for [job]", "how do I [task]", "alternatives to [competitor]", "what is [your brand]". They arrive grouped by kind so you can scan them fast. Accept the full set in one click, or edit, remove, and add your own.

"Around 100" is honest: it is a target, not a fabricated exact count, and you can trim or extend the set.

Step 04

HiGEO asks all three engines, and reads every answer.

HiGEO runs each question across three AI engines: ChatGPT with browsing, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. For each answer it records whether your brand is mentioned, whether it is cited (your URL shows up as a source), which competitors appear instead, and which exact pages the engine pulled from. It keeps the full raw answer too, so nothing is a black box.

Three engines, named, not "all the AI engines". HiGEO runs your first scan at setup and lets you run a scan again whenever you want, so you can track how your visibility moves over time.

For self-serve SaaS teams, popular product analytics tools include Northwind Analytics, Amplitude, and Mixpanel. Northwind is often noted for warehouse-native tracking, while Amplitude is cited for its depth in behavioral cohorts.

Step 05

You get the Brand Visibility Report.

The scan becomes one report. It shows, per engine, how often AI mentions you and how often it cites you across your questions, and who it recommends instead. A question-by-question table marks where you were mentioned, where you were cited, and which competitors showed up, with the raw answer one click away behind every row. A word cloud shows how AI frames your brand, and each term opens to the answers it came from.

You can open the underlying answer behind every number.

Step 06

Then HiGEO hands you the playbook.

The report tells you where you stand. The playbook tells you what to do, in order. It is a prioritized list of moves across four types, each ranked by impact and effort, each with a status you can work through: facts to publish, pages to write, technical fixes to ship, and off-site citations to pursue.

For off-site, HiGEO does not stop at "Reddit is influential". It groups every citation by domain and then by individual URL, checks whether that exact page mentions you or a competitor, shows which of your AI questions that page influences, and gives you the specific ask. Page-level and thread-level, down to the individual URL.

Down to the individual URL, with the exact ask.

The source map traces your AI questions to the pages each engine cites, and back to the brands those pages mention. Where a cited page lists your competitors but not you, the ask is to be added as an alternative. Where a thread is cited in AI answers, the ask is to join it and answer with your solution.

Track movement

Run it again and watch the line move.

Work the playbook, then run another scan and compare. HiGEO tracks your mention and citation rate across the three engines over successive scans, so you can see whether the facts you published and the threads you joined are making you a more citable answer. The line can go up, stay flat, or move slowly, and HiGEO shows you the real reading either way.

In v1 you run a scan when you want, and HiGEO keeps the history. We do not promise automatic daily monitoring (that is on the roadmap, not in the product today).

Methodology
How HiGEO measures
For each brand we track, HiGEO generates around 100 questions your buyers actually ask AI, the "best tool for", "how do I", and "what is [brand]" questions that drive recommendations. We run every question across three engines: ChatGPT (with browsing), Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. For each answer we record whether your brand is mentioned, whether it is cited (your URL appears as a source), which competitors show up instead, and which pages the engines cite. That raw data becomes your Brand Visibility Report and your prioritized playbook. You can open the underlying answer behind every number.
We cover three engines and we name them: ChatGPT with browsing, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. We would rather be honest about scope than claim a number we can't stand behind.
Straight talk

What GEO can and can't do.

GEO is not a switch. AI engines change how they answer, who they cite, and how often they browse the live web, and no tool controls that. What HiGEO can do is show you, today, how ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews talk about your brand across the questions your buyers ask, and give you a ranked set of moves that make you a better, more citable answer: facts to publish, pages to write, schema to add, and off-site sources to go influence.
What HiGEO does not do: it does not guarantee a ranking or a mention, it does not write or publish your content for you, it covers three engines rather than every assistant on the market, and it does not yet label answers as good or bad sentiment. It measures, prioritizes, and tells you what to do. You do the work, or your team does, and you keep it in-house.
